Your information, handled with care.
The Renewal Initiative ("we," "us," "TRI") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language because we think you should understand it.
1. Information we collect.
We collect only what we need to operate as a nonprofit and stay in relationship with the people we serve.
You give it to us directly.
- Donations: Name, contact information, and gift details when you give. Payment information is processed by Planning Center / Church Center and is not stored by us.
- Newsletter signups: Name and email when you subscribe to "Follow the Work." Subscriber records are managed in Planning Center and Mailchimp.
- Contact form: Name, email, and the content of your message. Submissions flow into our Planning Center CRM.
- Partnerships: Additional information you provide when initiating a partnership conversation (organization, role, context for the inquiry).
We collect it automatically.
- Site analytics: The site runs Squarespace's built-in analytics, which records pages visited, general location (country/region), referring source, and device/browser type. We use this to understand how the site is being used and improve it. We do not build profiles on individual visitors.
- Cookies: Standard session and analytics cookies set by Squarespace. We do not run a separate cookie banner. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings.
2. How we use it.
- Sending tax receipts and acknowledgment of gifts.
- Sending newsletter updates and "Follow the Work" emails (only when you've opted in).
- Responding to your inquiries, partnership conversations, and donor questions.
- Operating and improving the website.
- Meeting legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations (e.g., IRS reporting, state charitable solicitation requirements).
3. Who we share it with.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Period.
We share information only with the service providers that help us operate:
- Squarespace — website hosting and built-in analytics.
- Planning Center / Church Center — donor records, donation processing, contact form submissions, and CRM.
- Mailchimp — newsletter delivery for "Follow the Work" and related email communications.
- Accounting and auditing professionals — for IRS, state, and financial reporting obligations.
These providers are bound by their own privacy commitments and contractual obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law (e.g., a court order or government request) or to protect the safety and rights of the people we serve.
4. Your choices.
- Unsubscribe: Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time.
- Access or update your information: Email info@renewalinitiative.com to see what we have, correct it, or request deletion.
- Cookies: Manage cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.
5. Children's privacy.
Our website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this site. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.
Dnipro Lego Club is a program that serves children directly. All information about those children — registration, attendance, photos, and any personal details — is handled on the ground in Dnipro by trusted local partners. None of that information is collected through this website or stored in our U.S.-based systems.
6. Data security.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. Donation processing happens through industry-standard secure platforms (Planning Center / Church Center). That said, no method of online transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International visitors.
The Renewal Initiative is based in the United States. If you are accessing the site from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
8. Changes to this policy.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the website or, where appropriate, by email.
