Celebrating Our Collective Impact in 2025

As I reflect on the past year, I am deeply grateful for the role you played in sustaining hope where it is desperately needed. 2025 has been an extraordinarily difficult year for Ukraine. Russia’s war against Ukraine is approaching another painful anniversary. Yet even in the midst of grief, displacement, and exhaustion, your partnership has ensured that compassion and presence have not disappeared.

Honoring the Teams Who Serve Faithfully

One of the greatest strengths of The Renewal Initiative is the people who carry this mission forward. Throughout the year, multidisciplinary teams of pastors, medical professionals, mental-health specialists, volunteers, musicians, and veterans traveled to Ukraine to serve alongside local leaders. They gathered with leaders in Kyiv to strengthen those who have been serving continuously since the earliest days of the invasion. Our teams spent time in military recovery units listening to wounded soldiers and caregivers, choosing gentle presence over easy solutions. They supported pop-up medical clinics near Kharkiv, connected with children and youth in Dnipro, and built meaningful relationships with displaced families. These efforts are expressions of long-term commitment and solidarity.

Sustained Impact in Dnipro

This year, we were also able to begin monthly support for the Dnipro LEGO Club: a consistent, relational space for emotional healing, mentorship, and spiritual care for children impacted by trauma. This is not a short-term project. We are committed to continuing this investment into 2026 because healing takes time, and it requires consistency and faithful presence.

Lives Behind the Numbers

Your support is not abstract. It reaches real children and real families.

A 7-year-old girl who fled her hometown after intense bombardment struggles with emotional regulation, attention, and grief. At first, she couldn’t sit still during programs and had difficulty focusing. Over time, through patience and consistency at the LEGO Club, something began to shift. Recently, during an activity where children were asked to name something they appreciated, she expressed sincere gratitude for the care and commitment of the volunteers.

An 8-year-old boy escaped a frontline city after months of living under drones and constant explosions. During one of the children’s lessons, he was asked, “What would bring you the greatest joy?” His answer was simple: that his grandparents, still trapped in the city, would be able to escape and join his family. Outwardly, he was calm, but he carried with him deep trauma.

These stories represent what happens when faithful partners make long-term impact possible.

Amplifying Voices from the Field

We were also able to extend our collective impact beyond the field through advocacy and storytelling. Stories from the work were shared through national and international platforms, including Newsweek, Christianity Today, Christian Post, MSN, The Blaze, and others. These opportunities allowed us to elevate the voices of those often unheard and to call attention to the human cost of ongoing conflict.

Looking Ahead with Purpose

TRI remains deeply committed to our mission: restoring dignity and hope, and strengthening leaders and communities where suffering has taken its toll. We are currently clarifying focus and building the structures needed to scale our collective impact with wisdom and integrity. But this work does not happen in isolation. It happens because of partners like you.

Your generosity, your prayers, and your trust are essential to our mission.

On behalf of the children, families, leaders, and communities being served, thank you for standing with us.

With sincere gratitude,

Dr. Andrew Moroz
